(Vía Joia Magazine) The Annoucement es el título que Nelson George da al documental que relata el día en que Irvine “Magic” Johnson comunicó al mundo que  se había contagiado de SIDA, 20 años después.

Sin mas comentario que tentarlos a verla, el documental narra la triste historia del día en que Magic Johnson hizo público al mundo entero que se retiraba de los L.A. Lakers por su complicada enfermedad.

Un filme pro-activista, que muestra  el poco conocimiento que existe en la población mundial con respecto a esta enfermedad, y la soledad de quienes la padecen.

Se las recomiendo.

The public at large learned something and the black folks learned something. … You can live with this, and you also don’t have to discuss the how, when and why. That’s not what’s important. What’s important is you can be tested, you can get treated. And if you do your best, try to be as healthy as you can, take your medicines, do your exercise, eat properly, have the support of your family, you can make it.
